Cretan goat
(Capra hircus 'creticus')
Nom français : Chèvre de Crète
Remarks : Cretan goats are feral domestic goats which were imported long ago and are now endemic to Island of Crete where they are a national symbol and thought to be endangered in the wild. A captive breeding program has been initiated and one of the biggest breeding groups outside Crete is kept in Mulhouse zoo, in a big enclosure located above the carnivores section.
